talent development academy
Our Talent Development Academy is designed for athletes, primarily based in the Midlands during the Winter, who have already shown significant talent on the road or in cyclocross and are looking at professional cycling as a future career.
The Academy will usually consist of between 8-12 Junior & U23 riders, allowing each rider to get all the attention and time they require to fulfill their potential, and for the coaches time to not be diluted across tens of athletes.
Through the Development Academy, each athlete will receive everything expected from a World-Class coaching package, plus more:
Complete 1-1 Coaching
Cycling Analytics Account
Race Calendar Support
CV and Team Selection Support
Furthermore, all athletes will be invited to attend training weekends where race skills, tactics and techniques will be a primary focus whilst having the chance to ride with athletes of a similar standard and ambition.
Being a rider on the Academy will come as No Financial Cost to the individual. We strongly believe that young talented riders should receive the top level of support without a financial burden, to give all talented riders the best possible chance of reaching their potential.

Over the past two years, coaches here at Loughborough Performance Coaching have spent numerous weekends with the British Cycling Senior Track & Road Academy and the British Cycling Junior & Senior cyclocross team.
Here, we have experienced the value that a group of coaches working alongside a group of talented cyclists can have on the cyclist's progression, not only physically but technically and tactically too.
Furthermore, the time spent with both of these teams has illustrated that cycling doesn't have to cease to be fun after Youth level, and raw talent development and rider enjoyment actually go hand in hand.
From here, our Talent Development Academy was born, to bring together the most talented young cyclists in the country, to not only reach their physical potential, but to learn the necessary skills and race-craft to make it to a professional level, all whilst still enjoying their time as a cyclist.
We typically look to recruit new talent in the October period for road riders and the February period for cyclocross riders. This allows us to develop a full annual plan leading into a race season and doesn't require the athlete to change coach mid-season. However, we will accept applications at any point in the year from riders who feel they will benefit from our Talent Development Academy.
To apply, please send your racing CV along with a short covering letter explaining how you believe the Academy will be able to benefit you, what your goals are in the short and long term, and what you believe you can bring to the Academy yourself, to the below E-Mail. One of our coaches will then get back to you as soon as they have looked through your application.
